Custom Automation Pod Frame
Designed and built specifically for Hans Zimmer Live.
From Design Brief to Reality
The process starts with detailed client drawings and specifications, defining structure, dimensions, fixtures, and aesthetic intent.
Technical Review & Concept Development
Our engineering team interrogates the brief, identifying constraints, functional requirements, and integration challenges.
Multiple concepts are developed and assessed.
Engineering the Right Solution
Design options are evaluated for structural integrity, manufacturability, transport efficiency, and speed of installation on tour.
Bespoke Pod End Frames
Custom end frames were engineered to integrate seamlessly with the POD structure. Precision cutting, welding, and assembly followed reworked technical drawings.
Structural Calculations & Verification
Using Tekla Tedds Structural Designer, detailed calculations confirmed capacity for 37 moving lights. Material strength, joint efficiency, and load distribution were fully assessed.
Pod Assembly
The main frame was constructed from three 26ft Tyler GT Plus pre-rig trusses, forming a rigid, touring-ready structure.
Total pod weight: approx. 2.5 tonnes.
Quality Control & Testing
Each structure underwent rigorous checks for dimensional accuracy, weld quality, and overall stability before deployment.
Designed for Performance
A fully bespoke aluminium automation solution, engineered for safety, reliability, and repeatability, show after show.
